Russia-Aug 1st Departure

Oh Wow!! It seems like its so far away and yet so close. Our flights depart on Aug 1st for a pre-trip training, fellowship and prayer time in whatever city we are departing from (looking at the flights available, most likely Chicago or D.C.) and Aug 2nd for Russia. 

Very nervous about flying. I know I shouldn't be because God has this covered, too, I am just not a very good flyer. When we went to Guatemala last year, the whole flight was a white knuckle experience for me. Prayer for comfort in flying would be great :-) 

I'm not as disquieted about actually being there and talking to people. That may come later but I really am grateful for the opportunity to go and speak to people about the Lord and about what Jesus has done. I am even more appreciative for the 'training' God has given me by my draw to lead a bible study. I LOVE the Word and I LOVE talking about the Word.

Fundraising Update: I have hit $3000!!!! Well, as soon as all the checks I have mailed in post anyway! Praise The LORD!!!! He is provider and His Promises are Faithful! I will be holding a fundraiser soon at our church with some delicious Russian desserts to help with raising the remainder. It will be $5 a person to sample a little of each dessert (and I will have 1 or 2 American desserts for children who are not so interested in trying new things) and I will be selling each set of treats as well! I will post a list of those shortly with a description of each if you would like to pre-order something and guarantee that I make enough! It is also possible that I may ship some, if so desired :-) I am pretty flexible so don't hesitate to ask for something to be done differently or to make special, even if it isn't on the list of goodies!
